From “moisture sandwiches” to applying frozen cucumber over your face, there is no shortage of weird, wonderful and downright wacky skincare trends to be found on TikTok. But the latest to do the rounds – “skin cycling” – looks like it might actually be worth paying attention to. Created by US dermatologist Dr Whitney Bowe, skin cycling is a four-day routine in which you use a different type of skincare product each night.
“Skin cycling has transformed the skin of my patients who have acne, rosacea, eczema, brown spots – or who are just looking to get the most out of their skincare routine,” Dr Bowe explains in a TikTok video. Here are the four stages of skin cycling: Night one: Exfoliation night – using a chemical or acid-based exfoliant after cleansing. Night two: Retinoid night – a moisturiser can be applied first as a buffer if your skin is sensitive or new to retinol.

Night four: Another recovery night. This cycle can then be repeated. Plenty of members of the social media app seem to be fans of this routine too. “I’ve been doing it too and it transformed my skin!” one TikTok user commented on another #skincycling video.
“I’ve been skin cycling and my skin has NEVER been better!” another agreed. Other experts also agree. Susie Bridgeman-Sutton, skincare specialist at Thunderbird Skin, agrees that it may be a trend worth listening to: “The great thing about this skincare trend is that it dedicates two nights to recovery, so you can get the most out of active ingredients while minimising irritation.” Susie recommends using an AHA/BHA

Hudson Mohawke has responded to his song ‘Cbat’ going viral more than a decade after its release thanks to a Reddit user’s unfortunate thread about their sex playlist.‘Cbat’ originally appeared on Hudson’s 2011 EP ‘Satin Panthers.’ Earlier this month, a Redditor made a post to the TIFU (Today I Fucked Up) subreddit in which he confessed he had regularly played the song during sex with his partner, saying it was his favourite, but that – after two years – she had told him she “hates” it and that the song “turns her off in a major way”.“I don’t understand why it has taken her two years to tell me she hates that song, it’s a good love making song with good rhythm,” the user wrote. “I pretty much played this tune every single time so the amount of times she must have not been enjoying it, when I thought the complete opposite is annoying but also embarrassing in ways.“I thought this song was perfect and I always thrust along with the tune and feel it gives me the perfect rhythm for doing the deed to.
