The leader of the council has criticised a union for telling members they would receive their backpay before Christmas.
Jonathan McColl says it was unlikely council staff would have been paid the cash by the end of the year, claiming expectations were “falsely raised”.
Some workers will need to wait until February to receive the backpay after unions thrashed out a pay deal earlier this month.
