A man from Wythenshawe has completed the massive achievement of cycling just under 1200 miles across 11 countries in just over two weeks.

A couple say they are now 'living the dream' in Lanzarote after selling up and moving away from the UK. Helen and Stephen Walker decided to upsticks to the sunny destination after realising they could 'never afford early retirement in the UK'.
Helen, 56, and Stephen, 55, took the plunge after a tragic year following the death of three people close to them. After wanting to retire early, they quit their property business and sold their three-bed semi in Leicestershire, and relocated to Yaiza, a town n Lanzarote.
Whilst living in the UK, the pair were shedding out £650 a month on their mortgage, plus £230 for their gas, electric and water bills in the UK. They are now mortgage-free and live a life of luxury, spending their days exploring and relaxing on the Canary Island.

The couple say they'd never have been able to retire in the UK at their age - but life is much cheaper in Lanzarote. "We’re living the dream. We never got a break at home and we could never afford to take early retirement in the UK," said Helen.
Helen and Stephen rarely went on holiday as they were self-employed and, even when they were away, they’d be answering phone calls and messages. But one year Helen convinced Stephen to go on holiday to Lanzarote and they fell in love with the place.
Helen said: “We came to Lanzarote and loved it so much. We were walking straight out to sea and Stephen turned around and said 'I could live here'. I said I could live here as well.”
