Samuel L Jackson's highly-anticipated trailer for new thriller Damaged has finally landed. The filming took place in Scotland last year, under the direction of Terry McDonough.
The film, set to be released in April, tells the story of Chicago detective Daniel Lawson travelling to Scotland to link up with a local detective after a serial killer's crimes match an unsolved case.
The trailer begins with Jackson's character Lawson getting a blast from the past when a cold case re-emerges in Scotland. He then teams up with Scots cop Glen Boyd in a bid to get a second chance at cracking the case.
A chilling murder of a young woman soon becomes apparent as scenes show Lawson getting folders. Another case has occurred in Edinburgh, as both men try to pin a link between the Scottish murder and that in Chicago.
A huge twist is in store as the murders are personal for one detective. An investigation of the crime scene points to a link with cult ideology, which the investigators think could be the motivation.
Glen Boyd, played by Scots actor Gianni Capaldi, soon ends up being taunted by threats from the killer. Kate Dickie and John Hannah also star in the action thriller.
Director McDonough has also directed episodes of shows such as Breaking Bad, Killing Eve and Better Call Saul. Scottish streaming company Stream Digital, based in Livingston, is partnering with Red Sea Media and Bondit Media Capital for the project.
