Talking Heads co-founders Chris Frántz and Tina Weymouth were involved in a car crash earlier this month after being hit by a drunk driver.Weymouth sustained three fractured ribs and a fractured sternum in the incident, Frántz revealed in a Facebook post today (March 27).“I was driving on the Post Road, U.S. Route 1 with Tina Weymouth when we were struck head on by a drunk driver who was driving on the wrong side of the road,” Frántz recounted.“Incredibly, we walked away from the collision,” Frántz continued.

Sharon Horgan’s first series for Apple TV+, an adapting of the Belgian version of Clan, will be titled Bad Sisters. David Byrne says he believes that Spotify is “making artists uncomfortable” around the scandal relating to COVID misinformation shared on Joe Rogan’s podcast.Earlier this year, Rogan and Spotify were heavily criticised for sharing misinformation about the coronavirus vaccine on the exclusive podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, which led to artists including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell removing their music from the service.Byrne, who in 2013 publicly criticised the “pittance” artists are paid in terms of royalties from streaming services like Spotify, and claimed he had pulled as much of his catalogue as possible from the service, was asked his thoughts on the ongoing scandal in a new interview with the Guardian.“There’s been all these things about platforms having … let’s say questionable or controversial content [and] putting out misinformation or outright lies or … not exactly hate speech, but things that are making a lot of artists uncomfortable,” he said.“And it’s pretty tough to do anything to help ameliorate that unless you’re a Drake or Taylor Swift, or those kinds of artists. It’s pretty hard for the rest of us to have influence.”Byrne added: “A handful of mega, mega artists are doing really well, and many of the others – especially emerging artists – are having a tough time with it.

David Byrne is currently hosting a second Broadway run of his lauded American Utopia show, and brought a performance to CBS Saturday Sessions yesterday (March 5).The show originally started its second run in Manhattan last year but was forced to cancel dates towards the end of 2021 due to company members testing positive for COVID. However, Byrne announced that the show would go on and set to work creating a modified version of America Utopia.With the second run continuing into 2022, Byrne and his band headed to CBS to perform Talking Heads‘ 1982 hit ‘Burning Down The House’ and ‘Marching Through The Wilderness’ to US TV yesterday morning.Check out the performances below:Last year, American Utopia was turned into a Spike Lee-directed movie, which NME called a rare concert film that packs in brilliant music, incredible visuals, a vital political message and jokes” in a five-star review.Elsewhere, Byrne recently announced ‘Theater Of The Mind’, a collaborative stage production between the singer-songwriter and his friend Mala Gaonkar, who is a neuroscientist.
