Dave Grohl teamed up with his daughter Violet once again at the weekend, joining her for two songs at a concert by David Bowie‘s pianist Mike Garson.Garson was performing a concert of Bowie covers at LA’s Sun Rose on Saturday (November 11) which 17-year-old Violet joined in for, performing renditions of songs including ‘The Man Who Sold The World’, ‘Where Are We Now?’, ‘Lady Grinning Soul’, ‘Life On Mars?’ and ‘Aladdin Sane’.Later on, Dave came to play the drums a cover of Nirvana‘s 1993 hit ‘Heart Shaped Box’. They also performed their debut ‘Show Me How’, which appears on Foo Fighters‘ recent album ‘But Here We Are’.The TV host, DJ and music executive Matt Pinfield was in attendance and shared various clips of their performances to Instagram.
“[Violet] was the featured vocalist all night with David Bowie keyboard legend Mike Garson and his band. She did stellar versions of all the Bowie songs.

Dave Grohl had a “no cursing” sign made to remind him not to swear during his recent show in Abu Dhabi.The sign was made especially for the iconic rock frontman as he took to the stage for a recent performance with Foo Fighters.Held at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after-race concert on Sunday (November 26), the sign was written in all caps and was placed on the stage as a constant reminder to Grohl to mind his language while performing at the event. It comes as swearing is strictly prohibited in the United Arab Emirates, and the use of the F-word is even considered a crime, punishable by up to one year in prison.A photo of the sign was posted by Consequence and, according to the outlet, the rock icon also referred to the visual reminder during the set.Holding it up to show the crowd, Grohl reminisced at his countless performances over the years and told his audience that he thought it was “the first time ever” he’d made it through a live set without swearing.

Rush reunion with bandmate Alex Lifeson.Fans assumed the band had broken up for good after the death of drummer Neil Peart in 2020, who quietly battled brain cancer for three years.Opening up in a new interview with The Washington Post, the musician reflected on the band having a reunion of sorts at the Taylor Hawkin’s tribute concerts last year in memory of the Foo Fighters drummer.“It had been a taboo subject,” he said of the experience. “And playing those songs again with a third person was the elephant in the room, and that kind of disappeared.”During the tribute shows in Los Angeles and London, Lee and Lifeson played Rush songs alongside a host of musical friends including the Foo’s own Dave Grohl, Tool‘s Danny Carey, Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ Chad Smith and Omar Hakim.Lee said: “It was nice to know that if we decide to go out, Alex and I, whether we went out as part of a new thing, or whether we just wanted to go out and play Rush as Rush, we could do that now.”Following Peart’s death, Lee seemed to suggest that Rush’s touring days were definitely behind them.“That’s finished, right? Travis Barker has shared his memories of Taylor Hawkins, the late drummer for the Foo Fighters.Barker, the drummer for Blink-182, said to The LA Times that he had spoken to Hawkins shortly before his death. Hawkins was found dead in his hotel room aged 50 in March 2022, hours before Foo Fighters were set to headline a festival in the city as part of a South American tour. No cause of death was given.According to Barker, he and Hawkins both lived in the San Fernando Valley, where Hawkins suggested they ride mountain bikes together.
