WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey's Pay Rises to $22.5 Million in 2019

WarnerMedia will commit “more than $100 million” to help crew members on its shows and movies that have had to pause production during the coronavirus pandemic, CEO John Stankey told employees in a memo Friday afternoon. Stankey also outlined some of the strategic pivots the company has made in recent weeks in order to respond to the crisis, including experimenting with accelerate home viewing, disrupting traditional theatrical windows, with all theaters closed.

WarnerMedia is giving back to its’ production workers who have been laid off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

WarnerMedia will pledge $100 million in relief to workers affected by wide production shut downs in film and television, CEO John Stankey said in a Friday staff memo obtained by Variety.

BuzzFeed, hoping to forestall layoffs with an economic downturn of the COVID-19 pandemic already under way, is reducing the salaries of most employees. CEO Jonah Peretti said he won’t be taking any compensation until the crisis has passed.

Mega Italian fashion influencer Chiara Ferragni and husband Fedez have done their part to aid in COVID-19 relief efforts in their home country of Italy — and that’s a serious understatement.

Charlie Ergen, the billionaire chairman and former CEO of Dish Network, took home $2.35 million in total pay for 2019, according to an SEC proxy filing issued on Friday. Ergen made $3.1 million for running the satellite TV service in 2018.

Charter Communications chairman and CEO Thomas Rutledge received compensation worth $8.74 million in 2019, up slightly from $8.15 million in 2018 and $7.8 million in 2017. His latest annual pay package was down, however, from his $98.5 million take for 2016 when Charter acquired Time Warner Cable and Bright House, according to a regulatory filing.

Pop star Louis Tomlinson has postponed an upcoming show in Milan, Italy following a month-long government ban on all public events as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

Add Louis Tomlinson to the increasingly long list of artists forced to cancel or postpone shows due to the spreading coronavirus.
