Thousands of lots are set to go up for sale this May at Maxwells auction, including interesting and valuable pieces.
This month will see the Stockport antique seller host statues worth thousands, unique silver and jewellery, wines and spirits, and more.
Items not to be missed are the glass lots from Whitefriars and Swarovski, brands known worldwide for their impressive glasswork and designs.
Whitefriars no longer produces its beautiful glassware. It combined ancient methods developed more than 300 years ago when the glassmaker was founded in 1680 with modern machinery to create valuable, high-quality items which are now classed as highly-desirable collectables.
With more than a hundred years of history, Swarovski continues to create crystal glass, jewellery and accessories which sees the company bring in billions in revenue and customers. Known for its delicate craftsmanship and sparkling creations, a Swarovski-branded item is not one to be passed up on.
If you're doing a spring clean, make sure you don't just take items to the tip because they could be worth more than you think.
Get in touch with Maxwells to find out the value of your items and sell them through the auctioneer - a perfect way to not only clear space but also make some cash out of your unwanted items.
Many people use auctions to find pieces which they love structurally but want to change to modernise or fit their aesthetic. Take wooden items, for example, they simply sand them down and coat them with chalk paint to match their other furnishings. Not only is it more sustainable, sometimes cheaper and offers a sturdier alternative to modern-day mass-produced items, but the furniture automatically becomes completely unique to you.
