Plans to install a 189-metre ‘spiral ramp’ at a new Stockport park have been met with a mixed reaction online - with some heavily criticising the proposals.
The ramp, which will connect the new park at the revamped Stockport Interchange to the River Mersey, has been branded as a ‘muggers' delight’.
Others have said it will be ‘open to misuse’ and become a magnet for anti-social behaviour.

The ramp will integrate into the ever-expanding Bee Network for cycling across Greater Manchester, transport chiefs say.
“Stockport Interchange is a transformational project for the town, and these proposals will only enhance its potential as a truly state-of-the-art transport hub,” said Stephen Rhodes, unveiling the plans for consultation.
The TFGM customer director added: “The spiral ramp will not only be a striking structure to look at, but it will also provide a safe way for cyclists and pedestrians to reach the new park from ground level.

“Along with the bridgescape linking the park and Stockport rail station, the ramp will integrate into wider Bee Network proposals to provide a continuous route into Stockport Town centre and linking to the Trans Pennine Trail.
“I would encourage everyone to take this opportunity to have their say on this key piece of cycling and walking infrastructure, which will serve not only Stockport Interchange but the Bee Network as well.”
However, when images were shared on Facebook groups in Stockport, some residents highlighted their issues with the plans.
One wrote: “Muggers delight. Didn’t the original plans say it was going to be a lift.
