Universe for Sony's Spider-Man Movies Has an Official Name

British director S.J. Clarkson is all set to direct the upcoming female-led Spider-Man spinoff movie. The upcoming film will be a part of the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. This is not the first time the director will collaborate with Marvel. In the past, she had directed episodes for Jessica Jones and The Defenders. Other than these, Clarkson also has House, Dexter, and Succession, to her directing credit. The creators have not spilled any more information about the project.

Andrew Garfield played Spider-Man in two films, namely The Amazing Spider-Man and part 2 of the same film. The latest news reports suggest that the actor was replaced because he failed to appear at the film's event.

Ever since it was announced that Sony is working on the sequel of Tom Hardy starrer 2018 Sci-fi action film Venom, the Marvel fans have been eagerly waiting for the movie. In addition to Tom reprising his role from the first film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage will feature Woody Harrelson as serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes villainous symbiote Carnage.

Back in 1996, Marvel Entertainment filed for bankruptcy and eventually merged with the now-defunct ToyBiz in 1998. It was later acquired by Disney at the cost of $4 billion in 2009.

Hollywood is continuing to shuffle more release dates due to the Coronavirus pandemic. As the world stops to take a collective deep breath, the production of movies, serials, and TV shows have been put on hold amid the ongoing COVID 19 lockdown. The latest movies to join the list are Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man 3. Sony Pictures and The Walt Disney Co. announced the revised theatrical release schedules on April 24 and confirmed the delay.

With movie theaters closed amid the ongoing pandemic, our homes have been turned into a cinema in the time of coronavirus, with many films available on VOD or to stream earlier than expected. But those are largely movies that had the unlucky timing of dropping right before social distancing descended upon the nation.

LOS ANGELES  — Hollywood studios are shuffling more release dates as a result of the coronavirus, including sequels to “Doctor Strange,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home” and “Into the Spider-Verse.”

Tom Holland’s next outing as Spider-Man has been delayed, Sony has announced.

Ryan Reynolds recently surprised his fellow Marvel star Tom Holland with a case of gin to keep him occupied during the ongoing Coronavirus shut down. During his virtual interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 23-year-old revealed that The Deadpool star recently treated him to Aviation gin and lots of love. The Spider-Man actor jokingly mentioned that he and his roommates have remained friends despite the lockdown because they are always drunk. That’s when Ryan’s lovely gesture came up.
