Ulrika Jonsson has waded into Catherine Tyldesley's 'cakegate' - describing the request of free products as ‘cheeky and cocky’.
The former Coronation Street star, 39, hit the headlines earlier this week after a party planner acting on her behalf was accused of asking Yorkshire-based Three Little Birds Bakery for free cakes in exchange for social media exposure.
Catherine, who said she had no idea about the request, took to social media saying party planners NVRLAND have been 'misrepresented' in the scandal, adding she hopes the 'cake lady got the exposure she was craving'.

Now wading into the social media fallout, Ulrika, 55, wrote in her column for The Sun that requests for free products from small businesses are 'cheeky, cocky and often with an utter disrespect for the businesses trying to stay afloat'.
"It's the asking that makes me so uncomfortable," the TV presenter wrote. "I'm happy to stand corrected, but I don't believe in the 35 years of relative fame I've enjoyed that I have ever asked for a freebie.
"You could argue that if you don't ask, you don't get. But when I think of the incredibly tough time small businesses have had, it blows my mind how thoughtless you would be to expect them to give anything away.
"Besides, if you can afford a party planner, you can surely afford a couple of cakes? I hope the Three Little Birds Bakery in West Yorkshire goes from strength to strength."
