Brits heading to Europe will need to pay for a visa from next year. Under the new system, all UK travellers aged from 18 to 70 will need one if they’re visiting an EU country.
In line with the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS), British holidaymakers will require the visa if they are travelling in Europe for less than 90 days during a 180-day period, reports The Sun. Holidaymakers will need the ETIAS if travelling to any European country by plane, boat or car, or if they are transiting through Europe to another country.
It will cost €7 (£5) for the documents and they must be applied for before travelling. Passengers will have to complete them online at least 96 hours before departure.

Applicants will be asked for information about their identity, passport, education, job, recent travel, and criminal convictions, including whether they have ever been kicked out of a country.
Airlines will also have to check the visa before passengers can board the plane. They will last three years, although they will expire if the holder has to get a new passport.
If a Briton needs to stay more than 90 days, they will need a different form of visa, depending on the exact circumstances.
Meanwhile, holidaymakers heading to the US will now have to pay more for an ESTA, the US visa, with the price having risen by 50 per cent.
