Two people accused of causing "suffering or injury" to a young girl have had a warrant issued for their arrest. The pair failed to turn up at court.
Connor Bailey, 23, and Shannon Bostock, 24, both of Deepdale Road, Bolton, were summoned to Bolton Magistrates Court this afternoon, April 19, to face the charges. However, neither of them appeared for their hearing, and a warrant was issued for their arrest.
Mr Bailey and Miss Bostock have both been accused of causing "unnecessary suffering or injury to health" of a young girl, who can't be named for legal reasons, between January 2 and January 7 of 2020. The pair were summoned to court to face the charges together as co-defendants.

However, in a short hearing at Bolton Magistrates Court this afternoon in their absence, a warrant was issued for their arrests, meaning the pair will be held in custody ahead of a future court hearing relating to the allegations. Charge documents for the pair outline the dates the offence is alleged to have taken place, alongside the name of the youngster - which cannot be released for legal reasons.
The sheet states that both are accused of: "Assault / ill-treat / neglect / abandon a child or young person to cause unnecessary suffering or injury" contrary to Section 1(1) of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933. The offence is alleged to have taken place in Bolton, whilst the young girl was in the pair's care.
As a warrant has been issued for the arrest of both Mr Bailey and Miss Bostock, a date for their next appearance has not been set, and will instead be arranged once the pair are in custody. They will remain in custody until the next hearing
