TV News Roundup: Apple TV Plus Announces ‘Little Voice’ Premiere Date

NEW YORK -- Public interest in demonstrations following the death of George Floyd boosted news programming — none more so than CNN. Since Floyd's death on Memorial Day in the custody of Minneapolis police, CNN's prime-time audience is up 238 percent over last year, the Nielsen company said.

 Jennifer Lopez and Barack and Michelle Obama are merely some of the A-list appearances expected on YouTube’s Dear Class of 2020 commencement ceremony special at 3 p.m. ET on June 7. Lizzo and the New York Philharmonic are slated to open the show with a performance of Pomp and Circumstance.

A technical glitch in CBS’ Washington control room on Tuesday wiped out the broadcast of CBS Evening News on the East Coast and in the Midwest. The Norah O’Donnell-anchored newscast, which originates from Washington, is usually transmitted through a New York control room, but that facility has been shut for weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After a strong Season 2 that highlighted a lot of structural flaws within the healthcare system, New Amsterdam had to adjust one of its biggest storylines and sign off early because of the coronavirus pandemic. Consequently, we didn't get to see everything the show had planned, including a pandemic-themed episode set in New York that was shelved after people in the show's cast and crew — including recurring guest star Daniel Dae Kim -- contracted the virus.
