The upcoming True Detective: Night Country is adding new stars to the cast!
Five new actors are joining Jodie Foster and Kali Reis in Season 4 of the HBO crime anthology series, Deadline reported Friday (September 23).
Here’s a plot summary: “In True Detective: Night Country, from writer-director-showrunner Issa López, when the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”

Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon first costarred together in 2011’s “Take Shelter.” Now, they’ll costar again in a very different project: “George & Tammy,” a miniseries about country music legends Tammy Wynette and George Jones for Paramount Network. The series is a long-time passion project for Chastain, who first signed onto the project in 2011 when creator Abe Sylvia wanted to make it a film.

EJ Panaligan editor A24 has released the official trailer for its upcoming Claire Denis-helmed romantic thriller “Stars at Noon,” starring Margaret Qualley and Joe Alwyn. The film first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The two-hour film follows a young American journalist (Qualley), who falls for a mysterious Englishman (Alwyn) while stranded in Nicaragua. Though at first he seems like her best bet at getting out of the country, it is slowly revealed that her affiliation with the Englishman has put both of them in immense danger. Also appearing in the film in supporting roles are Danny Ramirez, John C. Reilly and Benny Safdie. Ramirez plays a Costa Rican policeman, Reilly plays an American boss and Safdie plays a CIA agent. They all take interest in the Englishman’s ominous dealings in Nicaragua.

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies was all smiles with Ncuti Gatwa in his latest Instagram snap. In May this year, it was announced that the Sex Education actor 29, had been cast as the 14th Doctor, replacing Jodie Whittaker as the Time Lord in the BBC series as Russell returns to the helm. In a statement released at the time, the actor said: ‘There aren’t quite the words to describe how I’m feeling.

Killing Eve actor Shaw will play Rose Aguineau, a “survivalist with a past full of secrets”.Other new cast members include John Hawkes (Deadwood) as Hank Prior, a police officer with “old grudges hiding under a quiet surface”.
