A trans woman has spoken out after claiming she had her 'wig ripped off' and was 'punched' in an attack after a night out in Manchester's Gay Village.
Andreyaa Hora, 42, had been enjoying an evening drinking with friends when she walked back along Sackville Street to get a taxi home at around 4am on Sunday morning (December 3).
Andreyaa, who identifies as a female and began transitioning in 2020, says she remembers a group of young men walking past her near Club Tropicana and hurling slurs towards her.

She then claims one of the group's members 'snatched' her wig off the back of her head, with another hitting her to the side of her face, causing her to fall and smack her head on the road.
"I had been to the cabaret and saw my friends outside the Eva Lounge. I went inside to say hello and as I came back out, was walking outside past McTucky's and Club Tropicana," she told the M.E.N.
"There was a group of guys coming over and they were clearly drunk. They said transphobic slurs and I remember one of them snatching my wig off from behind. Another punched me to the side of my face and it completely knocked me onto the floor.
"Nobody tried to stop them. I got up on my own and by the time I did, they had gone. They came in my direction trying to antagonise me because they knew I was trans.
"I got up on my own and saw two police officers passing by. I was sobbing so much I couldn't even speak properly."
Andreyaa said a friend of hers, who is a drag queen that performs in the Gay Village, stayed with her as she was interviewed by a number of officers on Sunday
