Tragedy as mum who 'had to battle so much' dies aged 33

A mum with a 'good heart' who was told she had asthma after battling cancer tragically died aged just 33.
Katie Dowling was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, the Liverpool Echo reports. She underwent a mastectomy and had to battle through chemotherapy on her own, due to lockdown in 2020.
In 2021, Katie got the all clear and rang the bell. But the following January, the mum-of-two went to the doctors after suffering with shortness of breath and fatigue.

She was told she had asthma by medics. In October of that year, she was given the devastating news that she had cancer again - terminal cancer in her lung, liver and spine.
Tragically, she lost her life aged just 33 in April this year. Her partner Craig Nicol said she had 'been through so much'.
Katie, from Norris Green in Liverpool, lost both of her parents in the months since her initial diagnosis - but kept high spirits for those she loved around her. She was a 'good-hearted' person who 'would do anything for anyone', Craig said.
He told how her stubborn personality gave him the chance to spend a few more months with her. Following her death, Craig is determined to create awareness after Katie believed she was suffering with asthma, rather than cancer.
Katie, who worked as a retail assistant at The Range, rang the bell in 2021 after battling breast cancer. Sadly, her dad passed away on Christmas Eve that year.
