Following the axing of Top Gear, hosts Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris have set their sights on their next TV project.
The duo - who hosted Top Gear with Fredie Flintoff - are set to reunite in new BBC series Chris & Paddy: Roadtrip. Paddy, 50, and Chris, 49, will head out on new adventures across Europe in the programme, which will reportedly kick off in spring, according to The Sun.
Despite the similarities to Top Gear, the new show is not considered to be a continuation of the hit programme - which was shelved in 2023 after 33 series. A BBC Studios insider told The Sun: “This is a brand new travelogue show for Paddy and Chris.
The duo will travel across Europe, using various modes of transport, visiting people to find the secrets to wellness and happiness — no stunts, no car reviews.” BBC bosses officially axed Top Gear in November 2023.
The broadcaster announced the show would not return for the "foreseeable future" as they'd made the decision to "rest the UK show".
The show was brought to a halt following Freddie's horror car crash, which occurred while he was filming the show in 2022.
The famous sports star, 46, suffered a huge accident at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome back in December 2022. As a result of the crash, Freddie suffered severe facial injuries and took some time away from our screens to properly recover.
However, Freddie now seems ready to be seen again and has already been spotted back at work on a brand new show filming in India. In a photo shared on social media in March, the dad of four posed alongside a young cricket player named Subhajit Naskar on Instagram.
The image, which was taken at The Cricket Association of Bengal, showed a happy and smiling Freddie complete with his nearly healed facial injuries.
