It's been reported Tony Hadley had to be rushed to hospital just moments before he was due on stage. It meant the Spandau Ballet star had to cancel the show at the last minute as he was taken for medical care.
The 80s music legend was just getting ready to perform at the Clearer Water Antrim Coast Half Marathon Live Lounge in Northern Ireland. It was during the soundcheck, reports the Mirror, that people started to notice that he was unwell.
He was then taking part in a meet and greet with fans after doing his soundcheck, but seemed to be in discomfort. When he then went back on stage, he told the show organisers he wasn’t feeling well, and he was rushed to hospital.
Michelle McTernan, who was in charge of PR for the event told the Belfast Telegraph : "We had to do what was right by him and he was taken to hospital, and his crew have all gone with him, to stick together. We hope he gets better soon."
Other performers scheduled on the line-up had to step in to the slot left vacant for the Gold hitmaker.
Ruth McIlroy, who organised the weekend, added: "Medics on site were very clear he needed to go to hospital. It is disappointing because we had a great day with the half marathon earlier, and Tony singing would have been the icing on the cake, but we have to take care of people, and we are more concerned that he'll be OK."
Tony had been set to deliver a performance featuring songs from his solo career as well as the group’s. He told the Mirror earlier this year he’d never reunite with his bandmates - who include former EastEnders star and Martin Kemp, and his brother Gary.
