EXCLUSIVE: Comedy Dynamics has locked in plans to release Irish comedian Tommy Tiernan‘s latest special, Tomfoolery, on platforms worldwide on April 30.
Directed by David Thies, the special sees the Irishman riff on the duality of human existence, being two opposites at the same time. He was almost a priest, but his mind was too dirty. Producers of the special are Liner Notes Productions, Thomas V. Walker, Rob McNeely, Lee Frankel, Michael A. Jackman, David Thies, Royce Richmond, Eddie Brill, and Naoto Hall.
“I’m a huge fan of comedy dynamics and all the brilliant stuff that they’ve put out and Liner Notes have been a pure pleasure to work with…,” Tiernan told Deadline. “Getting to do my stand-up in a small club in New Jersey was a wonderful adventure, it felt like going back to the roots of the art form… i hope you enjoy it.”
Added Comedy Dynamics CEO Brian Volk-Weiss, “Tommy’s new special is laugh out loud hilarious. His full comedic arsenal is on display here and we’re excited to be releasing the special.”
Currently embarking on a UK Tour while hosting his critically acclaimed, improvised talk show The Tommy Tiernan Show on RTÉ 1, Tiernan has been performing stand-up comedy for close to 30 years. Also an actor, he’s most recently been seen on the hit Channel 4 series Derry Girls, as well as BBC/Hulu’s series adaptation of the bestselling novel Conversations with Friends, and the dramedy Joyride with Olivia Colman.
Recently, Tiernan also co-hosted the award-winning Tommy, Hector & Laurita Podcast, which had over 25 million downloads and was heard in 175 countries around the world. The comic is repped by PBJ Management in the UK.
