Tom Parker is said to have chosen an Oasis song during his final moments as he passed away on Wednesday 30 March. The 33 year old was diagnosed with a grade four glioblastoma back in October 2020, where he exclusively told OK! magazine that it was the "the worst case scenario". While he went through countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat the inoperable brain tumour, his wife Kelsey announced his untimely death yesterday, sharing that their "hearts are broken".
Now, it's been reported that Tom was surrounded by friends, family and The Wanted band members, including Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Max George and Nathan Sykes, while the 1994 Oasis hit Live Forever from their album Definitely Maybe played as he passed away. "It's a real anthem to strength and defiance and some of the lyrics really speak to his struggle. Like the track says, Tom really will live forever in his children, his fans and his music." Tom's wife Kelsey, 32, shared the heartbreaking news of her husband's death on Instagram yesterday as she paid tribute with a black and white photo of him.
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence," she began her post.
