Now, Hwang is urging “Squid Game” fans not to “take things too seriously,” saying he has met with the creator of the reality spinoff, titled “Squid Game: The Challenge,” and hopes “they will be carrying on my vision and intention as much as possible for the show.” Hwang addressed the spinoff Monday night at the Emmys, where “Squid Game” made history — and scooped up a handful of awards in the process. Hwang won best directing for a drama series for the pilot episode, “Red Light, Green Light,” while star Lee Jung-Jae became the first Asian actor ever to win best actor in a drama.

Tom Hopper stars in the new Netflix romantic comedy Love in the Villa and his real-life wife Laura Hopper plays his fiancee in the movie!
The 37-year-old actor, who also stars in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, has opened up about how Laura ended up getting the role.
Turns out, Laura read the script before Tom even did!

“She tends to go through a lot of the scripts that get sent my way,” Tom told Entertainment Weekly. “She was like, ‘I just read this really great script called Love in the Villa. It’s a really sweet rom-com and you should read it.’ I read it and I agreed; I thought it was really brilliant.”
Tom continued, “Laura, also being an actress, was like, ‘Oh, I love one of these roles as well — the role of Cassie.’”
After Tom signed on to play Charlie in the movie, he suggested that Laura get the role of Cassie and she was given an audition, and then the part.
“I love working with my wife,” Tom said. “She’s so funny. She’s a very good comedic actress. What was very bizarre is I break up with her in the movie. As we were doing it I was like, ‘This is really strange playing out this scene.’ She’s so different from that in real life, but she loves those character, comedic roles. It was such a blessing for us because we’ve never really done that before. We’ve acted in the same things, but we never actually acted opposite each other.”
