Tokyo Olympics to Be Postponed Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

No summer romance! The Bachelor: Summer Games has been canceled by ABC, Us Weekly can confirm.

The new dates for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo have just been revealed. After getting postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the Games have been rescheduled to open on July 23, 2021 and close on August 8, 2021.

The world's oldest man has said celebrations for his 112th birthday are a "dead loss" after they had to be cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Olympic champion swimmer Ryan Lochte says that while he is disappointed by the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo due to the coronavirus pandemic, it's a "bump in the road" for him and fellow athletes.

Update 3/24/20: Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has now confirmed that the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be postponed until 2021, following a meeting with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach. "We agreed that a postponement would be the best way to ensure that the athletes are in peak condition when they compete and to guarantee the safety of the spectators," he told reporters, per The Guardian.
