New ‘Fallout: London’ trailer reveals release window for “DLC-sized” mod

Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London has shown off some in-game footage and given the game a rough release date. The downloadable content sized mod for the Bethesda game is now set to release sometime in 2023, with the development team creating new quests, stories, and open-world environments to explore. You can check out the announcement trailer below. In the mod, players will be able to explore an original story in a post-apocalyptic London from the Fallout universe. Even though Fallout: London isn’t an official expansion to the franchise, the development team has previously stated that it wants to adhere to the series’ canon, and make sure that any new concepts feel like they fit within the franchise.Last month NME sat down with project lead Dean Carter, who revealed that Fallout: London will have original music written specifically for the mod, which will aim to parody classic British music like The Beatles and David Bowie.‘Nuclear Submarine’ will blend The Beatles with Fallout‘s signature atom punk culture, for example.Carter also revealed that Fallout franchise alums Ron Perlman and Liam Neeson were approached for the mod, with Perlman’s agent telling the group that it “couldn’t ever afford him,” whilst Neeson simply said he was no longer interested in doing work for the franchise.“Visiting a totally new setting allows for us to explore totally new cultures which have not homogenised with their American counterparts,” reads the trailer description.

How Glam, Guitars and ‘A Clockwork Orange’ Led to David Bowie’s Masterpiece, ‘Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars’

Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorThere’s little question that David Bowie’s rise to superstardom in 1972 was a carefully calculated campaign, involving an unforgettable, otherworldly image, a strategically timed public announcement of his bisexuality, a rapid-fire series of tour dates and television appearances, no small amount of business and P.R. savvy — and most importantly, one of the greatest albums in rock history.“The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars,” released in the U.S.

Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorFor those who don’t know, the late, legendary, longtime BBC Radio DJ John Peel was one of the most influential and important people in British music from the 1960s through his death in 2004.He arose in the mid-1960s as the BBC was forced to modernize its programming, and for the next four decades, he played a vital and arguably peerless role in just about every wave of contemporary music, from psychedelia through punk and Britpop and electronic music. His incredible taste is reflected in the list of artists whose careers he supercharged with his many radio shows and “Peel Sessions,” from Pink Floyd through Rod Stewart, T.

‘Fallout: London’ to include music inspired by The Beatles and David Bowie

Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London will include a number of original music tracks inspired by the works of British artists like The Beatles and David Bowie. That’s according to Fallout: London’s project lead Dean Carter, who told NME in a recent interview that the mod’s development team has created around 45 original songs that either take inspiration from ‘50s and ‘60s British music, or reflect a specific part of the mod itself.“Anything that has been sort of, like covered, it’s either in the public domain, or we’ve got permission to use them,” explained Carter. “The one that like skirts the line the most is ‘Nuclear Submarine’, rather than obviously ‘Yellow Submarine’”.The ‘Nuclear Submarine’ track – along with a David Bowie-inspired song – is completely original, but aims to evoke the musical style it’s emulating whilst putting a Fallout spin on it.“One of the songs is singing about the different tube stations,” Carter adds.

‘Moonage Daydream’ Review: Brett Morgen’s Kaleidoscopic Head-Trip Meditation on Who David Bowie Was

Owen Gleiberman Chief Film CriticJust before the Cannes Film Festival midnight-show premiere of the David Bowie documentary “Moonage Daydream,” the film’s writer, director, and editor, Brett Morgen, didn’t simply stroll down the red carpet. As Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” blared from the promenade speakers, Morgen danced — and pranced and pogo-ed, and flashed a cheeky madman grin, and by the time he entered the theater, the crowd, taking all this in on a giant video screen, gave him an even more rapturous than usual Cannes ovation. Morgen had the right look for these antics.

‘Moonage Daydream’ Review: Brett Morgen Beams You To Planet David Bowie In A Musical Space Extravaganza [Cannes]

The great majority of us could only aspire, before “Moonage Daydream,” to step into the mind of David Bowie — the persona, the artist, the entity not yet proven terrestrial. Eclectic, unashamedly maximalist, and variously philosophical: all true of both the man himself and Brett Morgen’s feature-length docu-odyssey, which borrows its title from the 1976 hit, and just debuted as part of Cannes’ Midnight slate.

Cannes Review: Brett Morgen’s David Bowie Documentary ‘Moonage Daydream’

David Bowie unquestionably became a great rock star—the greatest ever, according to a tribute published by Rolling Stone after his death in 2016. Yet, it comes closer to the truth to call Bowie a “rock star,” the quotation marks suggesting that what Bowie created was a persona of the rock god, in much the same way that Cary Grant manufactured the quintessential image of the glamorous “movie star.”

You won’t get a biographical breakdown, except in bits and pieces and through the process of absorption rather than explanation; what you will get is an assemblage of live clips and interviews and animation and effects plucked from throughout the Bowie archives and knitted together with an extraordinarily dense and at times even assaultive sound design. In case you’ve forgotten, the last line of the chorus in the song that gives this movie its title is “freak out in a moonage daydream,” which is pretty much what this movie does.If that description scares you, then “Moonage Daydream” might not be the Bowie movie for you.
