Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand in the shade Pinkgasm is a long-time favourite with makeup artists and celebrities alike, delivering a pretty, shimmery rose colour to cheeks. But priced at £29 here, it’s not the cheapest way to fake a flattering flush. Luckily, TikTok appears to have found a solution. There are a number of products doing the rounds on the social media app that TikTokers claim give the same effect as the Charlotte Tilbury highlighter, including a Wet n Wild makeup stick (which isn't available to buy in the UK) and a Kiko Milano liquid blush pot that’s now sadly discontinued.
But the recommendation that crops up most frequently is Revolution Bright Light Highlighter in the shade Divine Dark Pink. Costing just £8 here, it’s significantly cheaper than the Tilbury original. At first glance, the two certainly look similar, both packaged in a shiny tube with a round, sponge-tipped applicator.
But does it perform as well? Well, the majority of TikTokers seem to think so. “So similar and only $6!” captioned TikTok user @emmilllyy, who posted a video swatching both this and the original on her arm. “I like the Revolution [one] better,” someone even commented underneath the post, going on to say that “it does take a bit more work to blend but can’t beat the price”.
“I received mine in the post today and they’re so pretty,” another happy makeup fan wrote underneath a different comparison video by @beautyglowgirl. However, not everyone seems so convinced that it’s a good alternative. “The metallic looking Revolution one was super hard to blend and too glittery for me – Tilbury it is,” commented one TikTok user, with a few others agreeing that this one is trickier to blend than the original.
