A warning for 'thundersnow' has been issued for Falkirk as temperatures continue to plummet.
Forecasters say that the worst of the snow will be between 10am and 4pm today, with as much as 15cm likely to fall over the highest ground.
The Yellow 'be aware' alert covers places like Denny and Bonnybridge.
A separate alert then comes into force for snow and ice at 8pm tonight, until midday tomorrow Friday January, 7, which covers a much wider area of the district.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "A band of rain will move eastwards across the UK during Thursday, with this likely to fall as snow for a time, particularly over hills.
"Many places will see 1-2 hours of snow with a risk of temporary slushy accumulations above 100-150 m with snow leading to difficult travel conditions.
"A longer period of snow is expected over higher ground with 2-5cm likely above 200-300m, and 10-15cm above 400m.
"Over higher routes, strong winds will lead to drifting and temporary blizzard conditions.
