This Morning was beset with problems today, first as Holly Willoughby suffered a coughing fit during a segment with Deidre Sanders and then again when cameras cut to Josie Gibson on location, who they discovered wasn't ready. Holly, 41 and Phillip Schofield had to laugh off the blunder after the segment got off to such a promising start with Philip, 60, saying viewers had the chance to win £500,000.
He then said: "Josie Gibson is joining us with...." and then added: "They're not ready yet" as things began to fall apart behind the scenes. Philip continued: "She's not ready, what's she doing?" as Holly chimed in, desperately filling for time: "She's teasing us because it's the biggest prize of the year so far." The seasoned presenters then cut to the VT showing the prize before coming back to Holly saying: "We don't know what's happened to Josie," adding: "If you spot Josie give her a nudge and tell her she's supposed to be on the telly." Giving us a taste of what was on offer from Josie's live feed, the camera showed a shot of some table legs and a door, revealing that it was on the floor.
Holly quipped: "It doesn't make you want to pick up the phone and do the competition, does it?" Later in the show, when they did manage to get a live feed to Josie, she explained that "Cameraman Sam" had gone to open the door to a delivery driver. It was a jovial moment amidst the storm currently surrounding presenters Holly and Phil.
