Michael Schneider Variety Editor at LargeThe final season of NBC’s “This Is Us” leads all nominees in broadcast and cable for the 2nd annual Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards, announced on Thursday. “This Is Us” received 12 nominations, including broadcast network drama series, actress, actor, supporting actor, supporting actress, writing and directing.
The HCA TV Awards are unique in featuring several drama and comedy categories for both broadcast and cable. And it’s also unique for splitting broadcast/cable and streaming into separate nominations and ceremonies.
The streaming nominees will be announced later this afternoon.HBO’s “Succession” came in second place with 11 nominations, including cable drama series as well as six acting nominations, three directing nominations and one writing nomination. FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” received eight noms, ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” scored seven, FX’s “Atlanta,” Showtime’s “Yellowjackets,” HBO’s “Euphoria” and TBS’s “Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail” all landed six, and CBS’ “Ghosts” got five.The HCA’s broadcast network and cable awards will be held at The Beverly Hilton on Saturday, August 13, 2022, while the streaming event will take place the next night, on Sunday, August 14.
