Before I go away anywhere, I always get my eyebrows laminated. It’s one of those treatments I fell immediately in love with from the first time I had it done, and I feel like my brows look sparse and thin when I don’t have them laminated. The problem, as any salon regular will know, is that the upkeep of having perfect arches can come at a hefty price: lamination costs around £60 and needs to be redone every six weeks, coming to a yearly total of nearly £500.
If there was a cheaper way to get similar, long-lasting lifted results, you’d want to know about it, right? There is, and I’ve put it to the test. The London Brow Company has just launched a Home Lamination Kit, £39.99 here, and it promises to save you £400 a year in salon bills. That sounds like some good holiday spending money to me. The kit, although not the first DIY lamination offering to hit the market, IS the first to be manufactured in the UK with vegan and cruelty-free ingredients. It also takes less than 20 minutes to do yourself from the comfort of your own home.
Or in my case, from my balcony. Speedy and affordable, my two favourite things. I did manage my expectations a little before using this.
I’ve tried two other home lamination kits in the past which offered very little in the way of results. I was, however, once told by a professional that home kits can be decent, but you should look for ones where the liquids come in sachets, not bottles, since air can get into bottles and spoil the liquids – hence why a lot of kits won't actually give good results past that first initial use. A lamination catfish, if you will.
