It was the word that prompted gasps from the public gallery as it left the coroner's mouth: "Manslaughter." Joshua Molnar had been acquitted of it - and murder - following a criminal trial for the fatal stabbing of Yousef Makki.
In a second blow for his family's fight for justice, an inquest into the teenager's death produced no firm conclusions, leaving them 'disgusted'.
Setback followed setback. And all this while Yousef's loved ones grieved for another pillar of the family - his mum, Debbie, who 'died with a broken heart' 14 months after her 'golden boy' son. But his sister, Jade Akoum, vowed to continue.

Finally, at Stockport Coroners Court on Wednesday (October 25), his loved ones got the 'justice' they spent more than four-and-a-half years fighting for. Relief overcame the packed public gallery as the family's supporters hugged.
Moments after coroner Geraint Williams gave the conclusion that Yousef had been 'unlawfully killed', his sister recalled one of her final conversations with her mum. Jade said: "She made us promise her that, no matter what happened to her, we'd never give up... on getting closure, getting answers, as to how and why Yousef died. And I feel, today, that I've kept my promise to her."
While Jade told reporters she had 'fulfilled' that promise on Wednesday, she had already spent years living up to her word. Yousef, 17, was fatally stabbed by Joshua Molnar in leafy Hale Barns, Trafford, on March 2, 2019.
Molnar was acquitted of murder and manslaughter at a criminal trial later
