There's a Daddy Yankee museum opening in Puerto Rico

HBO Documentary Films has picked up the worldwide television and streaming rights to doc feature Siempre, Luisabout the work of Luis Miranda, the father of Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda, in his native Puerto Rico.Luis A. Miranda Jr., a Puerto Rican migrant who helped shape New York politics for over three decades, left Puerto Rico for New York City in the 1970s.The doc follows Miranda over the course of a year, as his devotion to family and country propel him forward.

The surprise track comes two days after the NBA great, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others died in a tragic helicopter accident. In the song, the 25-year-old alludes to Kobe’s five championship rings and the ring he gave to his wife Vanessa Bryant in honor of their marriage.

Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee are considered pioneers of the reggaeton movement, paving the way for the fresh wave of artists such as Lunay, Anuel AA and others. During the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, both Yankee and Jam formed the duo "Los Cangris," releasing timeless hits including “En La Cama,” “Guayando," "Sentirte" and "Entre Sabanas Blancas." After parting ways to embark on solo careers, the two Puerto Rican artists reunited for the first time in 20 years to drop new music together. 

Daddy Yankee did it again. With his hit "Que Tire Pa 'Lante," he matched his own record of nine consecutive weeks on top of the Billboard Argentina Hot 100, an achievement held with "Calma Remix," along with Snow and Katy Perry.

José Feliciano balked a bit when producer Rick Jarrard suggested he record a rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain," whose video is premiering below from the Puerto Rican singer's upcoming new album Behind the Guitar. But considering that Jarrard was the same guy who convinced him to record a hit cover of the Doors' "Light My Fire" in 1968, Feliciano eventually – and wisely, in his estimation – acquiesced.
