NEW YORK -- Dean Stockwell, a top Hollywood child actor who gained new success in middle age in the sci-fi series “Quantum Leap” and in a string of indelible performances in film, including David Lynch's “Blue Velvet,” Wim Wenders' “Paris, Texas” and Jonathan Demme's “Married to the Mob,” has died.

Dean Stockwell died on Sunday (7 November) at the age of 85. Dean Stockwell was known for his roles in ‘Air Force One’ and ‘Dune'He was known for a litany of acclaimed roles across film and TV, including in the sci-fi series Quantum Leap and David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation of Dune.

Former Quantum Leap star Dean Stockwell, an Oscar and Emmy-nominated actor whose career on stage, in film and TV spanned over 70 years, passed away in the early morning of Nov. 7. He died peacefully at home of natural causes, a rep for the family confirmed to Deadline. He was 85.
