First showing in spring of 1988, The Wonder Years was a cultural phenomenon with coming-of-age fans worldwide. It became an instant ratings hit, but there’s one fan-favourite character in particular who has drastically changed. Former child star, Josh Saviano, now 47, looks completely different and in a fun twist of fate, he has ended up working in the same job as his character Paul Pfeiffer did 35 years ago.
Mirroring his storyline, Josh is now a high flying lawyer in the Big Apple just like Paul who ended up heading off to university to study by the end of the series in 1993. With the exception of a brief appearance in the mid-2010s on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Josh has stayed out of the Hollywood spotlight. But fans couldn’t believe it when seeing the former actor recently, witnessing a handsome silver fox.
With silver highlights through his dark hair, and a salt and pepper beard, the New York professional looked every bit a star behind-the-scenes. The Wonder Years showcased life in the 60s and 70s for two best friends - Kevin Arnold, played by Fred Savage, and geeky but loveable Paul, as they navigated school, relationships and growing up in the suburbs. Fans joined the boys as they tried to make sense of dating girls, graduating high school, and starting a life outside of their innocent suburban bubble. The unspoken underdog of the show, Josh, joined the show just as he was about to turn 12-years-old, and yet still to this day, many of the cast members keep in touch.
