Jessie Ware revealed some very exciting news on last night's episode of The Record Club.
She's going back into the studio!
"I've just signed a new deal with EMI," she told BBC Radio's Jess Iszatt. "So I've got two more records with them, if they want me!"
She continued: "I'm feeling great. I'm feeling really motivated...I'm ready to write some more music now!"
Jessie joined The Record Club to celebrate the release of her opulent fifth album That! Feels Good! - currently in contention for a Top 3 debut on the Official Albums Chart - Jessie revealed that the release of the record has been something of a victory lap for her, given that she initially conceived 2020's What's Your Pleasure? as her last go at the pop star life, following disappointment around her (very good) 2017 LP Glasshouse and the explosion of her Table Manners podcast which also features her mum, Lenny.
"What's Your Pleasure? I thought potentially could be the last," Jessie shared, "because I didn't know how many lives I had left in the music industry."
But What's Your Pleasure? wasn't Jessie going out in a blaze of glory - it's hazy and seductive turn into disco dance-pop represented one of the most authentic and successful artistic re-brandings in modern UK chart history, and as such, Jessie is now very much looking towards the future.
"[What's Your Pleasure] did amazingly and really propelled me [forward]," Jessie continued. "It made me so confident to make this one."
And with two new albums in the pipeline, Jessie admits she wished she could be "in the studio every bloomin' week" but she has a promotion to wrap up, and a brand new UK tour to prepare for.
