Police powers have been stepped up in Moss Side after a teenage boy was killed in a 'targeted' stabbing.
A murder investigation was launched after the 17-year-old was knifed in the attack on Raby Street, near Millennium Park, at around 4.15pm yesterday (April 4). The victim has been named by his loved ones as Prince Walker-Ayeni.
After the incident, police issued a Section 60 order in the area. This gives officers increased powers to stop-and-search people.

The order came into place at 8.30pm on Thursday and will last until 8.30pm tonight. It covers Raby Street and the surrounding streets near Millennium Park, as well as areas on both sides of Princess Road.
Police released a picture of four maps, showing where the increased powers cover. This afternoon, Greater Manchester Police revealed new details about the incident on a public portal.
On the portal, police said they believed an 'altercation' had taken place around the Quinney Crescent and Raby Street area just before the attack. The altercation was 'between the victim and a group of youths', police added.
The teenager was found 'collapsed' on the ground but sadly died. No arrests have been made at this stage.
In a previous statement, Detective Superintendent Simon Moyles said: "This is a tragic and senseless loss of life and our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this time. They will remain at the forefront of our minds as we move forwards in our investigation to track down the person or persons responsible.
