Prime Video hopes so with their upcoming release, “The People We Hate at the Wedding.” The film focuses on two siblings who venture to their half-sister’s British wedding. This adaptation of Grant Ginder’s novel hails from Claire Scanlon; her work prior to the project includes popular series ranging from “The Office” to “GLOW.” Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Wendy Molyneux crafted the screenplay: the pair are next set to write the eagerly awaited “Deadpool 3.”  ‘Wedding’ relies on a solid cast to tell the story.

K.J. Yossman Luca Marinelli has been cast as Benito Mussolini in Joe Wright’s upcoming biopic series for Sky. Variety revealed last month that Wright, who recently finished promoting his feature film “Cyrano,” was set to direct the series chronicling Mussolini’s rise to power against a backdrop of fascism and World War II. Wright also helmed Winston Churchill drama “Darkest Hour,” which saw Gary Oldman nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of the former British prime minister. “M. Son of the Century” is based on Antonio Scurati’s book and is set to go into production at Cinecittà Studios in Italy over the next few weeks. Wright will direct all eight episodes.

In a data point sure to fuel more quantity-versus-quality debate, Netflix broke its own record for number of original episodes released in a single quarter — with 1,026 in the third quarter of 2022, according to a tally by Wall Street firm MoffettNathanson. That’s more than five times any other streaming rival: Amazon Prime Video and Hulu released 223 and 194 episodes, respectively, and Disney+ debuted 140 original episodes, per the report. HBO Max, now owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, released 114 episodes in the third quarter — significantly fewer episodes than usual and comprising the lightest slate for the service since Q2 2020, the second quarter after launch. WBD has been paring back HBO Max’s content slate in recent months as it looks to cut costs.
