A four-year-old girl is said to have been 'scarred for life' after a dog bit her as she played in a park. Daisy Fagan needed stitches in her cheek after the black terrier bit her on the lips and left blood 'squirting' from her face, her family said.
And they said she still wakes up every night crying from nightmares of the mauling last month.
But as the dog wasn't a banned breed, police have been left powerless to seize it. The dog's owner was given a 'conditional caution' by police.

"There's no justice for my daughter there. I’ll remember that incident forever and to me, it feels like the dog’s got away with it.
"She could have permanent scars on her face. Even having to look at her and see her face, it just keeps reminding me of it."
Daisy was playing out with her cousin Joseph, 10, and nephew Casen, five, in a public field near her home in Nelson, Lancashire, on August 4, when she was attacked.
Her dad Mel Fagan, 49, was supervising the kids, who were taking turns riding around on her quad bike. As they were playing, a man approached with two dogs - a white beagle pooch and a black terrier-type dog, which Mel said is usually muzzled.
Daisy stroked the white dog first and then went up to the terrier after the owner said it would be “fine” to touch it, Mel said. But when she did, the dog sunk its teeth
