‘The Crown’ Showrunners Added The Princess Diana Singing Scene After Hearing Emma Corrin’s Voice

It took years of hard work for then-Camilla Parker Bowles to come out of the shadow of the late Princess Diana as Prince Charles‘ lifelong love. But thanks to Netflix’s The Crown rehashing and taking dramatic license with Charles and Camilla’s torrid and romantic affair during his unhappy marriage to Princess Diana, the late Di’s fans are now trolling the heir to the British throne and the woman he’s been married to since Apr.

The Crown has a lot of fans, but the members of the royal family are reportedly not among them—especially since the premiere of the show's controversial fourth season. In Season 4, The Crown took on more modern royal moments—like the early days of Prince Charles and Princess Diana's relationship, for example.

Season 4 of The Crown introduces a handful of "Did that really happen?" moments, from Prince Charles's cringeworthy engagement interview to the queen's secret estranged cousins. Also among those in the list is Princess Diana's surprise dance number at the Royal Opera House—this, much like most of the events in the show, did happen in real life.
