There's nothing quite like a walk in the woods to blow away those cobwebs, especially once the spring flowers are starting to bloom.

Delamere Forest is home to the Gruffalo trail and features sculptures of the purple prickled one himself, as well as other characters from the popular children's book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

The railway station there is still running, so as well as being accessible for drivers, it's perfect for those coming by train and attracts a lot of cyclists too. It's also got its own dog friendly zone at the back, which is where we headed.
