ITV viewers were left fuming after The Chase was abruptly taken off the schedule to make room for a breaking news special. Viewers who tuned in for their daily quiz fix were left disappointed on Wednesday (May 22) when ITV News took over the broadcast.

While announcing the election next month, Rishi criticised Labour and said: "I don't know what they offer - and in truth, I don't think you do either." He declared on 5 July, the day following the election, that either he or Sir Keir Starmer will take up the mantle of Prime Minister, while casting aspersions on his opponent for being willing to do anything to gain power.
