That’s not how you should take defeat. You should take it magnanimously and humbly. ’Tweeting after the episode aired, Mark, 56, said: ‘Apologies to those of you disappointed with my behaviour tonight.
‘My mental health was shot before that game, it was storm off or break down in tears. A remorseless diet of quality opponents didn’t help #thechase. ’He was supported by fellow Chaser Paul Sinha, as well as fans of the show.
Paul, who’s also known as The Sinnerman on the quiz series, said: ‘You should never have to apologise for the crime of “being human”. I’d have been nowhere on those questions,’ with Mark responding: ‘Thanks bud. ’One fan said: ‘You do not need to apologise for being a human and experiencing emotions.
For my entire 24 years of life, that’s all I’ve done – and it doesn’t make it any better, it just makes you feel more guilty. Thank you for acknowledging it, but don’t apologise. ’Another added: ‘Mental health is the hardest thing for any individual to control.
