A south Manchester bar has shared a hilarious and brutally honest list of job requirements for hopeful applicants. The Lounge-About bar, in Northenden, has listed six strict non-negotiables expected of its staff, including being able to 'stay off social media for longer than 37 seconds' and 'understand the concept of an iron'.
Owner Andy Halfpenny, who opened the business almost 19 years ago, in November of 2003, says there has been a 'massive difference' in the way hospitality businesses find staff and that it is harder than it has ever been due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The frustrated post, which also expects applicants to be able to 'pour a pint and smile at the same time' and insists that people 'don't need reminding constantly' was liked more than one hundred times on Facebook. Owner Andy says it is all based off his true experience with staff over the past two decades.

The full post read: "Lounge about Northenden is looking for bar staff......again. Please only apply if you fit the following criteria:
"Can smile and pour a pint at the same time. Be able to stay off social media for longer than 37 seconds.
"Be happy to tell me how to run my business as you've just graduated and now know EVERYTHING. Understands the concept of an iron and more importantly an ironing board.
"Doesn't need reminding constantly. I am not your mum or dad (hopefully not). And most importantly, will actually turn up to the interview.
"If this sounds like you feel free to send me your cv or even pop in and speak to me. Flexible shifts, higher rate of pay than the pathetic min wage, holiday pay and a pension all available."
