‘The Brothers Garcia’ Reboot Lands Series Order From HBO Max (EXCLUSIVE)

While we’re likely going to have to wait a little longer before Warner Bros. gives us their “Green Lantern Corps.” movie, however, there is a “Green Lantern” series in the works at HBO Max that will cover a bulk of the other human heroes that joined the group of cosmic cops.

For many folks that love superhero storytelling or just animated storytelling in general, “Batman: The Animated Series” is often thought of as one of the best examples of both. So, you can understand why people are going to be excited to hear that the creator of that series is returning to the world of Batman for a new show coming to HBO Max.

My Adventures with Superman, with Jack Quaid lending his voice to the titular hero, has landed a two-season order at HBO Max and Cartoon Network.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterA new Batman animated series has been ordered at HBO Max and Cartoon Network, with “Batman: The Animated Series” co-creator Bruce Timm attached as an executive producer.“Batman: Caped Crusader” will be executive produced by Timm along with J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves.

In March earlier this year, HBO announced, as “Insecure” was coming to an end, that producer-writer-director Issa Rae had signed a five-year overall production deal with WarnerMedia. The deal established an exclusive partnership between Rae’s production label, Hoorae, WarnerMedia’s branches HBO, HBO Max, and Warner Bros.

Project Greenlight is making a comeback. HBO has given a series order to Project Greenlight, an eight-episode docuseries from Issa Rae and Miramax, a reinvention of the critically acclaimed original Miramax and HBO series.

Anna Marie de la Fuente Mexican filmmaker Yulene Olaizola’s fifth feature, “Tragic Jungle” (“Selva Tragica”), which snagged two awards at the 77th Venice Festival, debuts June 9 on Netflix.Loosely inspired by the novel “Caribal: El Infierno Verde” by Mexican novelist-diplomat Rafael Bernal, “Tragic Jungle” is set in 1920 on the border between Mexico and Belize.

HBO Max has picked up to series family comedy pilot The Gordita Chronicles, from Claudia Forestieri (Selena The Series, Good Trouble), Josh Berman’s Osprey Productions, Zoe Saldana’s Cinestar Pictures and Sony Pictures TV.

Lily James is a blonde bombshell in the first photos from the set of her new Hulu series, . James is set to star as Pamela Anderson in the miniseries series, which is set to revolve around Anderson and Tommy Lee's whirlwind romance -- the former couple married on the beach in Mexico in 1995 after knowing each other for only 96 hours — and ensuing sex tape scandal.  In the photo, James was seen with platinum blonde hair, which was styled in a teased updo.

Taika Waititi is already what Hollywood calls a “multi-hyphenate,” as a writer, director, producer, and actor. But on the new series, “Our Flag Means Death,” Waititi is going to add pirate to that list of titles.

The Garcia family is reuniting. HBO Max has given a 10-episode order to The Garcias, a sequel to Nickelodeon’s hit sitcom The Brothers Garcia, Deadline has confirmed.

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has landed Sharp, an action script set in the world of expert knife fighting by José Padilha & Nicolette Noble that Padilha will direct. Stampede Ventures will produce. Deal is in the seven-figure range.

For those concerned that the “Green Lantern” TV series would end up like all the other various iterations of the live-action superhero franchise that has tried to happen since the 2011 film with Ryan Reynolds bombed (that is to say, dead), don’t worry! We actually have our first cast member for the series, pointing to the fact that the show should actually be put into production fairly soon.
