The 1% Club has viewers scratching their heads with its mind-boggling questions, and one in particular has been dubbed 'impossible' by fans.
The quiz show is no walk in the park. It pits 100 clever contestants against a series of increasingly difficult questions, starting with one that 90% of people can crack, all the way to a final brain-teaser only 1% can solve hence the title of the programme. But it was the 'toughest question ever' that saw seven players bow out after getting it wrong, while three barely made it through using their pass.
This puzzler came from the Aussie edition of the show: "Edna's birthday is on the sixth of April and Jen's birthday falls on the 15th of October, therefore Amir's birthday must be the '? ' of January," reports Birmingham Live.
The answer was January 24.
The difficult number game aligns each digit with its word's position in the sentence. For instance, 'sixth' is indeed the sixth word, and '15th' lands as the 15th word. Count each term up to the question mark, and it's clear that Amir's birthday falls on the 24th.
It might look like a piece of cake once you're in the know, but even the brainy contestants on The 1% Club didn't suss it out straight away. A clip showing everyone fluffing their lines went viral when @shambles_3 posted it on TikTok, sparking a flurry of comments claiming it was the "hardest 10 per cent ever". Meanwhile, in an episode of the British version of the show that aired in May 2023 and is hosted by Lee Mack, a 24 year old boy from Rock Ferry, on the Wirral, took home £99,000 in prize money.
