The alleged killer of 12-year-old Ava White sent text messages to his mum saying that he was "gonna end up going the cells for nothing". Ava died following an altercation with a teenage boy in which she was stabbed in the neck in Liverpool city centre.
A 14-year-old boy, who can't be named for legal reasons, has denied murder and manslaughter. Prosecutors say that Boy A stabbed Ava after she pushed him during an argument over him filming a video of her which he posted on Snapchat.
They allege that Boy A smirked, laughed, and ran away leaving Ava to die. They added that he then began a "cover up", discarding his flick knife, mobile phone, and designer coat, the Liverpool ECHO reports.

A court has now heard that although Boy A accepts responsibility for causing a fatal injury to Ava on November 25 2021., he has argued that he acted in self-defence. On day two of a trial at Liverpool Crown Court, the court was played CCTV footage of the stabbing, which happened at around 8.35pm in School Lane near the Bluecoat.
Later, the jury was also shown video footage of Boy A and one of his friends, Boy B, aged 14, running away from the scene and out of the city centre. Boy A left the knife close to some derelict houses and then put his designer coat in a blue bag in a wheelie bin.
The court heard the knife wasn't recovered by police until March 16, after Boy A told officers where to find it. DNA evidence matching Ava was identified on the blade.
Boy A's two other friends, Boy C, 16, and Boy D, 13, headed to the same area on the edge of the city centre, where they split up. Boy D was later arrested at a bus stop on Great George Street.
