The 'Big Four' grocer is facing criticism from families who have been left dismayed at its decision to axe the £1.20 promotion on chocolate bars and sweets. The staple promotion included a range of fan-favourites, including Yorkies, Kinder Bueno and Bounty Bars and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, all which are normally priced between 60p-70p each.
Additionally, Tesco has also scrapped a three for £1 deal on bags of soft sweets, including shrimps and bananas, raspberry mushrooms, milk bottles, dolly mixtures and mini jelly beans, which will now be priced at 50p each. That move means that customers will now pay £1.50 for three bags - a 50p increase.

"The Friday treat for the kids is over, ‘little’ changes like this are massive for some families", fumed one parent.
"Tesco upping the meal deal and removing the £1.20 for sweets", tweeted a second
