Celebrations to see major change as Bounty bars axed from chocolate tubs

Bounty lovers will be left disappointed this Christmas after Mars announced it will be removing them from select Celebrations tubs.

It comes after new data suggests that the coconut-filled chocolate sweets are a "national cause of division", with 39% of people in the UK wanting to banish them from Celebrations tubs altogether.

Taking note of this, the confectionary brand has teamed up with Tesco to trial a new initiative of No Bounty tubs in the lead up to the festive season.

For these limited-edition tubs, additional Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Galaxy and the all-time favourite – Maltesers, will be drafted in to make up for the missing Bounty’s.

This trial will truly put the popularity of the Bounty to the test, as it was also recently revealed that 18% of Brits admitted they would feel annoyed if they opened a Celebrations tub to find only Bounty’s were left.

Not only this, but a whopping 58% of people said that this would lead to a family argument - which is not what you want at Christmas.

The study, which polled 2,000 UK-based chocolate lovers aged 18 – 65, also revealed that 22% of people like Bounty the least out of all the chocolates in the Celebrations tub. Moreover, a hard lined 28% believe coconut does not belong in a chocolate bar at all.

This year’s No Bounty Celebration tubs follows the brand’s successful ‘Bounty Return Scheme’ in 2021, which encouraged Bounty haters to return their unwanted chocolates and swap them for more-loved Maltesers after the Christmas period.
