An Oldham landlord has spoken of his horror after his partner was left dripping in blood after being attacked by violent burglars.
Jack Dodd came face-to-face with two intruders when they broke into the Honeywell Arms on Ashton Road on Friday (September 23).
The 60-year-old was woken by noises at 2am but assumed it was his cats playing outside his bedroom. But when he spotted a shadowy figure move past the open door, the landlord knew he was in immediate danger.

The 58-year-old, who does not wish to be identified, needed 15 stitches when she was taken to hospital for her injuries. Jack and his partner managed to lock themselves in the bedroom and the burglars fled the scene empty-handed.
The landlord, who has owned the pub for 23 years, says the pair have been left “shaken” by the attack. “It could have been worse,” Jack told the Manchester Evening News. “It could have been a hammer over the head.
“It shows you what kind of people they are, smacking a woman with a weapon. I’ve had people try [and break in] before, but they were a bit violent this time. That’s the world we’re living in, isn’t it?”
Jack believes the burglars entered the property by climbing onto the flat roof and prising open a window. “I’ve been left a little bit shaken,” he told the
