Tennessee’s Attorney General has shared, ahem, grave concerns about a haunted attraction that was the subject of the recent Hulu documentary Monster Inside: America’s Most Extreme Haunted House.
In a Halloween post on X, the AG’s office revealed that it has sent a letter to Russ McKamey’s McKamey Manor in Summertown, TN to look into the “business practices in operating its ‘extreme haunted attraction.’ This office continues to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all Tennesseans.”
The office also sent a letter to McKamey, obtained by The Tennessean, that says the tour does not offer visitors a way out, and that they don’t have access to the lengthy waiver which warns of multiple risks. The letter includes this quote from McKamey in the doc: “we’re known for no quitting and no safe wording.”
The attraction’s website claims the experience involves “intense audio, lighting, extreme low visibility, strobe and fog effects, damp and wet conditions, physically demanding environments, close contact with creatures (you might be touched), very real and graphic scenes of horror.” It goes on to say the haunt is not recommended for those who are pregnant and claustrophobic, or who have seizures, heart and respiratory conditions.”
It also suggests that if you are a “whimp (sic),” you shouldn’t participate, either.
Happy Halloween. Today @agtennessee sent a letter to the @McKameyManor raising serious concerns about its business practices in operating its “extreme haunted attraction.” This office continues to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all Tennesseans.#Halloween #Tennessee
An account belonging to a McKamey responded to the AG post by saying, “haters gonna hate.”

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic In a time when country music is suddenly flusher with credible newcomers than it has been in a lot of years, Megan Moroney is one of the freshest of the fresh — with a clever debut single, “Tennessee Orange,” that stands as one of the best No. 1 singles the format has wrought recently, from an album, “Lucky,” that bears no skips among its 16 deluxe-edition tracks.

Owen Gleiberman Chief Film Critic Rockism, in case you don’t know the term, is the school of thought that holds the noisy “purity” of rock ‘n’ roll to be morally and aesthetically superior to the “corruption” of pop. There are numerous iconic examples of rockism.

Owen Gleiberman Chief Film Critic In the early days of the culture war, science stood on one side and religion on the other. In 1925, the so-called Scopes Monkey Trial hung on whether a Tennessee high-school instructor had violated state law by teaching human evolution. He was on trial, but it was really Charles Darwin who was on trial.
It has long been said that Windsor Castle is the most haunted of all the royal residences with over 25 reported experiences of ghosts and spirits - but it isn't the only famous home that has reports of paranormal activity. There is one home on the vast Sandringham Estate in Norfolk that was never lived in by the late Queen, despite the significant connections it holds to her relatives. There may be a reason for this, however, as it has long been said there is one historic resident who may be outstaying his welcome. The royal in question was involved in a number of scandals during his lifetime and would have been King if a tragedy hadn't happened.
