Telluride 2022: Venice’s Alberto Barbera Reveals Line-Up Includes New Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Luca Guadagnino & Todd Field Films

Other movies that will be highlighted include Chinonye Chukwu’s historical drama “Till,” Elvis Mitchell’s documentary “Is That Black Enough for You?!?,” James Ivory and Giles Gardner’s non-fiction film “A Cooler Climate,” and Martin Scorsese and David Tedeschi’s New York Dolls documentary “Personality Crisis: One Night Only.”Additional spotlight entries include “Bones and All,” directed by Luca Guadagnino and starring Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet; Marco Bellocchio’s “Exterior Night,” a six-part series about the kidnapping and eventual murder of the Italy’s influential statesman and former prime minister Aldo Moro; director Lars von Trier’s “The Kingdom Exodus,” a third season of his television series The Kingdom; Chris Smith’s “Sr.”, a look at the life and career of Robert Downey Jr.’s late father, Robert Downey, Sr.; “The Super 8 Years,” a story about writer-director Annie Ernaux’s family’s memory; and Sarah Polley’s “Women Talking,” a screen adaptation of Miriam Toews’ novel about women from a remote religious community dealing with the aftermath of sexual assault.

The New York Film Festival on Tuesday revealed its Spotlight section lineup, which includes the world premiere of She Said, Universal’s drama based on the work of New York Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey who investigated and wrote the bombshell 2017 Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse story.

Bones & All – the upcoming upcoming romance-horror directed Luca Guadagnino and starring Timothée Chalamet – has been released.Chalamet himself shared the 28-second teaser to his Twitter today (August 11). In it, Chalamet (who stars as Lee) and his co-star, Canadian actress Taylor Russell (Maren Yearly), share a tender moment before the action cuts to the pair running frantically through a desert.The upcoming feature will mark the second time Guadagnino has directed Chalamet, after the pair worked together on the latter’s breakthrough film, Call Me By Your Name, in 2017.

It is based on Camille DeAngelis’ 2016 of the same name and was adapted by Guadagnino’s “Suspiria” and “A Bigger Splash” collaborator David Kajganich.

Venice Film Festival chief Alberto Barbara revealed a typically intriguing lineup today, full of potential fireworks and serious cinema. From Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s “personal and ambitious” Bardo to Netflix’s much-discussed Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde, there are a host of buzz titles on offer and plenty of talking points. The lineup also offered up some interesting deviations from previous editions. Below, we discuss the selection with Barbara, who cultivated the lineup with his team over a nine-month span.
